Long before I was a real estate agent…<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This has been my passion. Those that know me know that I’ve been fascinated with homes since I was a kid. Exploring new build neighborhoods on an empty Sunday morning, perusing open houses as a hobby, getting to know the story behind a home and its people at estate sales, and pestering my friends and family to let me make them a spreadsheet to find their dream home.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

This area is home to me<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I grew up in Cary exploring the city on foot and bike as a kid. I’ve seen it change and grow. I know the fun spots, the schools, the trails, the neighborhoods, the places to work, and everything in between. From moving around over the years I have also lived in two places in Raleigh and two places in Durham, allowing me to get up close and personal knowledge of a huge range of area.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Client-focused<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Buying a home is about so much more than signing some papers. It’s about getting to know the people I’m working with and the entire picture behind their goals. I want to know who the people I’m working with really are – what are their dreams, what’s important to them, and what makes them happy. When working with buyers, one of my first tasks is to break down their feelings on how they envision themselves living.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I like breaking these desires up into categories to help not only understand where the client is right now in their life, but what they value deep down if they had no constraints. Sometimes people tell me they don’t want to fill out the “Dream place” column because they don’t think those things will ever be attainable. I remind them that the exercise is valuable because acknowledging a dream, however “unrealistic” it feels, can reveal smaller and more attainable ways to nurture that value of theirs. Many people say they want “land” or “more space”, which may not be feasible in such a populated, fast growing area like the Triangle. However, underneath that dream are often elements they seek like “quietness” and “freedom” – how else can we incorporate those values into the current home search? Maybe finding an older neighborhood with bigger lots and no HOA can give them a slice of that peace they crave, while still operating under life’s financial and location constraints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everyone deserves a place to live that makes them happy. I want to be that guide to help them get there.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

My background in science<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Coming from the scientific research and biotech industry, my brain has wired me to be extremely detail oriented, be a diligent problem solver, and to take a thoroughly organized approach to helping my clients. No aspect of the process lacks a space on my spreadsheet<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dedication to providing financial knowledge<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

An aspect of home ownership that is far too often glazed over in favor of the status quo is the financials. I have many resources I encourage my clients to take advantage of to be better prepared for the decisions they are facing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
